New Toy: Samsung Galaxy S2

Kinda belated post.. got my hands on this baby about 3 weeks ago.
1 week after the official launch and finally after waiting 3months for it to be launched in SG.

And it was all thanks to Dom who helped me reserve set under priority booking. :)
Despite tracking its launch in Asia almost every other day, never mind that new news already become old news, I keep reading them over and over again just to make sure I don't miss out any info. Yet, I was late by 2 days to catch it at the official release.

And it was gone. ALL GONE! It was mentioned that it was all sold out half a day upon its release.

I painfully put myself in the waiting list and thanks to uber sweet Dom, I din even have to ask him to do anything for me. When he heard that I was on the waitlist, he did magic for me! And viola!

I'm totally loving it!!

I've almost stopped bringing out camera with me these-a-days.. the picture quality is fab,
and I love how customisable the phone is!

Alot of people asked me why I got this phone and not iPhone4. Well, when I asked them back, "why should I get an iPhone?" most of them could not answer and comment the usual stuffs like "Cos everybody also using, than we can play the games and share files easier!"

Here I am, someone who used MacBook wayyyy before most of my friends did, owning an iPad 2 as well.. I call myself an Apple fan too. But, I do not buy blindly nor buy something just cos most other people are using it or what some friends said "make it all a set!"

I do my research, I understand my own needs and wants and I decide.
For the fact it is lighter, it is slimmer, it is faster, superb display, I get true multi-tasking with many different applications running in the background, I never need to worry abt losing my contacts if I lose my phone, and the sheer ease of customising the interface of it, the tactile response on the keyboard, I have chosen this as these suits my own needs.

For those who thinks Apple is the most advanced for everything, I'll encourage u to research abit more :) Apps wise, I have no problem so far, whatever popular games my friends are playing, Android has it too.

Maybe iPhone 5 will be better, maybe then there'll be a S3. I'm not dishing out all iPhones here, I won't even say I'll never buy any iPhones but for now, this is my choice. :)

Quoting famous tech forum Engadget:

"For a handset with such a broad range of standout features and specs, the Galaxy S2 is remarkably easy to summarize. It's the best Android smartphone yet, but more importantly, it might well be the best smartphone,"

To date, I already have 4 friends who switched from iPhone3GS/4 to S2 after playing with my phone.
