For some reasons, I've always preferred Nature Republic (NR) to The Face Shop's products. One of their best selling nail colour in a shade of taupe is my fave color. Often draw compliments from strangers on the beautiful nude colour.
Am a fan of their Star Prism Eyeshadows too. Affordable and fine, nice colours that blend well with my skin.
So being a fan, naturally I'll be attracted to a banner with words that'll grab u like a magnet
"50% STOREWIDE SALE"
Upon walking in, I noticed that aside from only nail polish in 2 colours, lipgloss in 2 shades, lipbalms in 2 flavors, some 15 eyeshadows colours and 2 different type of skincare kit... the whole shop is empty!
I peeked at the poster again, as the mood of the store seemingly look like a "Moving sale". And I saw it read "Clearance sale!"
So i tried to grab some of the eyeshadow colours, 50% disc so its like $5 for the star prism range. So cheap! But I was not able to find much of anything that I'll usually wear, so I pick 1 up and proceeded to the cashier.
"Miss, you want to take another one? It'll be free"
"You mean the sale 50% actually buy 1 get 1 free ah.. not buy 1 at 50% oh.."
"No, its 50% all items and further buy 1 get 1 free."
"Huh so u mean like 1 take 2 eyeshadow at $5?"
"Yes"
I was shocked. Isit it like a 75% off then? Then I asked the girl if they are shifting out, since they kept away so many of their goods. And she replied "Ah no, all our stocks are already here. Everything sold out already, all the other stores closed already. Bishan is the last one to close."
So sad.
Why? Their products are cheap & good, and now there is the Korean fever, they should be doing well. Well i guess, that is why retail business is no easy feat. Cheap & good is no longer the essence of a successful business.
Looking interesting pebbled in the star-shapped case
Is actually a subtle light blue with fine glitter.
Brightens my tired eyes everytime!
Nature Republic, I'll see you in Korea. Til then, adiós !!
